You Decide!  Milking It!

Laurie the Librarian is back with another fun You Decide Program!  On Monday, November 8 at 2:00, will be comparing and taste-testing different types of milk.  What’s up with all these new milks on the market? Are they really that healthy? What about calcium? How do they taste? What are the pros and cons? We will compare traditional dairy milks with other milks like almond, soy, and oat.  And of course you can’t have milk without cookies! You won’t want to miss this program!

Parkinson's Disease Support Group

We will be having a monthly Parkinson's Disease Support Group starting on September 2.  This support group is for those with Parkinson's and those that are caregivers. We will be meeting the first Thursday of the month at 3:00pm.  This support group will be led by Joan Schafer.

Note: We will NOT be meeting in October; we will resume meeting on Thursday, November 4.

Kids in the Kitchen

These programs will introduce children in grades K-5th to the kitchen! Jenny Hulme, Tama County Youth Coordinator with the ISU Extension Service will be leading three sessions from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M. on September 29, October 13, and October 27.  Lesson topics include: food safety, basic kitchen safety, the five food groups and the importance of physical activity. This does involve them making and eating healthy, child-friendly recipes.

There is no cost for these programs, but advance sign-up is required.

** Note - these sessions are full.  Due to overwhelming response, we have added 3 more sessions on Nov 3, 10, and 17 from 3:00-5:00.  These sessions are also full.  If you are still interested, please call Jenny at 641-484-2703 to add your name to a waiting list for possible spring sessions!
