Spring Plant Swap
Do you have extra seedlings or starter plants? Would you like to share slips or cuttings from your indoor or outdoor plants? We are having a Spring Plant Swap!
If you'd like to share your extras, please bring them to the Talen Community Room on Wednesday, May 1 between 10:00 and 5:00. Plants will be sorted with like kinds.
Then come back on Thursday, May 2 between 5:00 and 6:45 to take home some new plants!
Down & Dirty: Garden Walks and Greenhouse/She-Shed Tours
It's that time of year already! It's time for gardening and landscaping and working outside! Laurie will again be organizing and leading Garden Walks through local gardens, but this year she is also adding in some greenhouses and she-sheds! Maybe even a chicken coop! This is a great way to get new ideas for your own gardens, and maybe inspire you to build your own greenhouse or she-shed.
We will kick off the “tour season” with a visit to Paul Wendt’s greenhouse on Wednesday, May 1 at 3:30. We meet at the library to ride together, or you can always call to get the address and meet us there.

Cicadapocalypse!!
In 2024, a double brood of periodical cicadas will appear across the U.S. Some have called the emergence a "cicadapocalypse," but is it really? Raina Jenaw, Naturalist with Tama County Conservation, will talk to us about the return of the cicadas at a Lunch & Learn on Wednesday, May 29 at Noon. Although talking about these creepy crawly critters might dampen your appetite, feel free to bring your lunch.
